The bright joyous paintings of Marlene Bulas are depicted in a wide
range of styles and media. Much of her work is impressionistic -
especially her landscapes, still life, floral and figurative
paintings. Marlene also considers herself an experimental artist and
has been exploring abstraction and intuitive paintings on paper and
canvas as well. Love of colour and the painting process itself are the
main focus of her art. Major influences on her paintings have been the
French Impressionists, the Group of Seven, and various contemporary
instructors in Canada and the USA - especially Louise Cadillac of
Colorado, USA.
